ASA2 DevTools
ASA2 DevTools is an add-on plugin for ASA2 that provides a suite of developer tools for inspecting Amazon product data, API responses, templates, and caches. It helps site owners and developers understand how ASA2 processes Amazon data and renders product displays.
The add-on provides four interactive tools accessible from a dedicated admin page:
- Search Items Tester — Search Amazon products by keyword and explore the results.
- Placeholder Inspector — Look up any ASIN and see all available template placeholders with their values and types.
- API Response Viewer — View the raw Amazon API response (JSON/XML) for any ASIN with syntax highlighting.
- Template Preview — Preview how a product renders with any template, with responsive viewport testing.
How It Works
After activation, a new ASA2 → DevTools menu item appears in the WordPress admin. Clicking it opens a single-page interface with a sidebar navigation on the left and the active tool on the right. All tools query the Amazon API through ASA2's existing connection — no additional API credentials are needed.
Installation & Activation
- Download the ASA2 DevTools plugin ZIP file from your account at getasa2.com.
- In your WordPress admin, go to Plugins → Add New → Upload Plugin and upload the ZIP file.
- Click Activate.
- Optionally, go to ASA2 → Licenses and enter your free ASA2 DevTools license key to enable automatic updates.
Requirements
- ASA2 (core plugin) version 1.29 or higher must be installed and active.
- A configured Amazon API connection in ASA2 (PA API or Creators API).
- PHP 8.1 or higher.
- WordPress 6.0 or higher.
License is optional
All tools work without a license key. The license only enables automatic plugin updates. You can get a free license key at getasa2.com.
